Cliffe Veterinary Group was recently contacted by the BBC to see if we would be interested in taking
part in the Country Tracks programme which appears on a Sunday morning.
In early June Ruth Cook (director) and Joe Bennett (researcher & camera 2) came to have a look
around the Practice, having only ever seen our website. Everyone was happy with the arrangements
and so……………………………..

On the evening of 15th June they arrived at the Lewes Surgery to carry out the filming of one of our very popular puppy parties which are run by our Veterinary Nurse, Nicola Dyer. Nicola along with the owners and 6 boisterous puppies were then filmed and Nicola was interviewed by Joe Crowley the presenter.

The following morning they went of with Sophie Armstrong Bell to a local small holding to film some cattle and horses, and then returned to Lewes to film an operation on Archie a Rottweiler who needed surgery on a knee joint, and a cat called Georgie who had to have an eye removed after a car accident. (one of the crew was a little squeamish!)
The afternoon was spent at our equine clinic where they
recorded a vetting of a horse called Emily with Imogen
Burrows and dental work was carried out by Karl Holliman
on a horse called Polly, additional filming then took place
around the equine clinic,
(presenter Joe Crowley suffered today as he is allergic to
horses!).

Friday came round very quickly and the crew went off to one of our many farmers Mr Joe Delves who kindly agreed for the crew to film Bill Pepper carrying out routine work to check for pregnant cows.
From there it was back to Lewes for further shooting of internal & external shots of the Practice, and
an interview with Bill.

The programme Country Tracks is shown on a Sunday morning at
11.00am on the BBC, and we understand that this recording should be
shown sometime in the Autumn, as soon as we know the
details we will post them here on our website.
For all of the staff; those who were filmed and those that weren’t; this
turned out to be an enjoyable time and our thanks go to Ruth, Joe, Ben,
Tom & Joe for making this an exciting experience for the team at Cliffe
Vets.
