Euthanasia
We understand this is often a very sad time and we have a very sympathetic team of vets, nurses and staff to help you through the process of losing your pet.
Euthanasia in the domestic pet is carried out by injection of an overdose of anaesthetic, often done directly into the vein on the leg. If you chose to be present during the procedure this is perfectly fine.
Home visits can easily be arranged during working hours. When out of hours you can talk to the on duty vet for the best arrangements.
Once your animal has passed away it is often difficult to make a decision at this time as to what to do with you pet. We offer a range of cremation services via Harry Hawkins who will individually cremate your pet and return them in a variety of scatter pouches or caskets to keep the ashes in.
The cost of the individual cremation service can range from £80 to £150 depending on the size of your pet. Please remember this will be on top of the euthanasia charge and, if appropriate, the visit and/or out of hours charge.
