Yard Visits

Cliffe Equine provides high quality veterinary care to horses, ponies and donkeys throughout East Sussex and much of West Sussex. The above map indicates the area we cover for first opinion equine work. We will happily travel to areas further a field for second opinion and referral work and vettings.

Our equine specific Vets visit clients for routine examinations and procedures. Depending on their case load, each Vet spends different proportions of time in East and West Sussex and at the Laughton Clinic. This ensures Cliffe Equine provides good coverage of the catchment area and consequently there is always a vet not too far away should you need them in an emergency situation.

We realise how important it is for your vet to know you and your horse and his history, thereby assisting case continuity and consistent patient care. We actively encourage our clients to request the vet of their choice. If that vet is unavailable, either away from the Practice or fully booked, we will arrange another Equine Vet to visit your horse. (First ensuring this Vet is fully versed in your horse’s history and if possible, spoken to the case Veterinary Surgeon).

Unlike some other practices, we do not charge an emergency surcharge during the normal working day. In return, all we ask is that you try and book your appointment for non-emergency work with as much notice as possible. This will allow us to group calls in the same geographical area. Our ‘Out Of Hours’ charge will apply if emergency veterinary treatment is required outside normal hours. (This will be applicable to calls received before 8.30am and after 4.30pm and on weekends and Bank holidays.)

We offer free telephone advice to our clients. All vets have mobile numbers and email addresses you can contact them on (or leave a message). Alternatively you can leave a message at the Office. Mobile phone calls or messages will invariably result in a quicker reply.
