Catarina joined the Cliffe Equine team in July 2026. She graduated from Lusófona University in Lisbon in 2024 before moving to the UK in 2025 to undertake an internship at Sussex Equine Hospital.
Her passion for horses began at just six years old, and she went on to compete in dressage for over 10 years. Alongside her studies, Catarina gained valuable clinical experience through placements in Portugal, Spain and Ireland, helping her to develop a well-rounded approach to equine veterinary medicine.
Catarina has a particular interest in sports medicine, especially lameness investigations, as well as equine anaesthesia. She enjoys working closely with owners and riders to help horses perform at their best while maintaining their long-term health and welfare.
Outside of work, Catarina enjoys spending time with friends, being outdoors as much as possible, travelling and visiting home in Portugal.
