Equine Nursing Team Leader

The Role

Cliffe Equine Vets have an excellent opportunity that would suit an Equine Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to step into a management role.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the nursing team to ensure excellent teamwork and the highest level of clinical care is delivered. You will lead the team in a supportive and effective way to best reach the fullest potentials of all individuals and benefit the wider team. You will ensure the smooth running of the clinical and stable areas and work closely with the practice manager to ensure clients receive excellent service. This role requires you to be an experienced registered/equine veterinary nurse. You will be undertaking all equine nursing roles both clinically and non-clinically.

The job entails 38 hours per week, 4-day working week + out of hours nursing cover evenly distributed between the nursing team. This is currently a 1 in 5 weeknights and weekends on call. When a weekend on-call is worked, the following Friday will be given off as a day in lieu.

About Us

Cliffe Equine Vets is an established RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital based just outside Lewes in the East Sussex countryside. We have full surgical facilities, hospital facility (including 17 boxes) and a team of qualified and trainee Equine Nurses. The practice is set in the beautiful Sussex countryside at the base of the South Downs, just a few miles from the vibrant market town of Lewes and a short drive from Brighton. Direct trains to Gatwick Airport and London Victoria.

Applicant Requirements

We are seeking a qualified registered veterinary nurse or equine veterinary nurse with experience working in the role. Experience supervising or managing a team and coaching students and trainees is preferred. A strong work ethic and a desire to provide a high-quality service to our clients is vital, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
